HELIOSS: “Contre ma lumière”, there are spaces where the contemporary collides with the antique that holds within itself an exquisite source of complements, that when handled by the right artists’ minds, can result in a huge patchwork of notes that transform into colours, tones that segregate and merge as your mind is bewitched by the occult that at times becomes clearer. The music keeps turning into fractals of phantasmagorical scenes, of castles where everything can change from beautiful to fatefully agonizing, always with a symphonic escort, like the pleasures of a journey through time, where you close your eyes in each song, at the end of them appearing in another space, another tone, different atmosphere, a new room with different elements of the same essence, one of those that counts in terror, a romantic beauty, that awakens your two ”I”, the same ones that are transformed in that change of room, from gray to red.

Experimental, symphonic and swiftly virtuosic is this album, like everything France has to offers from the hands of Black Metal. Between the royal houses and the sidewalks of a decadent madness that lodges between the bodies of the past; overlapping in the insanity of the present, the fever of a deliriously antagonistic years, but destructively covered in darkness, all coated in Death Metal.

This album is a reminder of how much destruction is sensed in the face of the time in which it takes for it all to shatter into pieces.

Since 2010, HELIOSS, a French extreme metal project, offers a furious Progressive Black Death with many Symphonic influences. After having released a first EP and then 4 albums, HELIOSS continues to write and release new material of great artistic accuracy.

Two years after “Devenir le soleil“, their most ambitious work to date, HELIOSS is now back and they renew the agreement with Satanath Records to deliver ” Contre ma lumière “, an even darker and more progressive work. Focusing on complex yet natural compositions by the hand of mastermind Nicolas Muller, the two-man band from France is pushing their own boundaries, experimenting and bending genres, fusing Progressive Death Metal, Symphonic Black Metal and plenty of atmospheres into something unique, violent and majestic. Featuring the relentless drumming of Mikko (PROSCRIPTION, THE LIFTED VEIL) and the talent of D.M. (CELESTIAL SWARM, GRAVEFIELDS and many more), this album, once again mixed and mastered at the prestigious Henosis studio by Frédéric Gervais, will please everyone who is a fan of bands like SEPTICFLESH or PROJECT HATE MCMXCIX.

To conclude I think that HELIOSS has its own essence, which needs more a passenger of the sound, than a simple audience of what doesn’t have its own soul.
